The militants have split into three groups and spread out to Silapathar, Dumduma and Lekhapani. But from intercepts it appears they have not been able to escape. The security forces are expected to engage them shortly. Lt. Gen. Mohinder Singh, GOC of the Tezpur-based 4 Corps, told this to mediapersons at Tamulpur today after a function at which 30 militants, including three women, laid down their arms. Nineteen of them belonged to the ULFA and 11 to the NDFB.
