Thumping win for President XI

Nazareth june 27. President XI, Tuticorin posted a thumping 4-0 win over Kannur Police, Kannur and entered the quarterfinals of the fourth annual Canon Margoschis Memorial Trophy all-India football tournament conducted by Magrochis Recreation Club at the Margoschis Higher Secondary School ground here on Friday.

President XI, which took a 3-0 lead in the first session, could have won by a bigger margin, but for playing a relaxed game in the second session. Bruston opened the account in the 15th minute by scoring from a spot kick. He scored the second goal in the 22nd minute, when the headed in nicely off a centre from Ramesh. In the next minute Faizal Ahmed found the net off a pass from Krishnan. Muppidari completed the tally off a pass from Ramesh in the 69th minute.

President XI will take on Tamil Nadu Special Police, Chennai in the quarterfinal on Saturday.
