Colombo offer

By V.S. Sambandan

COLOMBO JUNE 26. In another bid to break the peace deadlock, Sri Lanka today said it would spell out the ``basic points'' of a proposed provisional administrative structure for the consideration of the LTTE ``within the next two weeks''.

The offer came a day after slender hopes of revival of talks were raised with a Norwegian announcement of separate, ``frank and constructive'' meetings by Oslo's special envoy, Erik Solheim, with the Sri Lankan Prime Minister, Ranil Wickremesinghe, and the chief rebel negotiator, Anton S. Balasingham, in London on Monday.
