Blast on train

TIRUPATI June 25. Two persons were injured in an explosion in one of the bogies of the Arakonam-Tirupati passenger tonight.

Sources said the blast occurred when gelatine sticks, being clandestinely carried by a passenger went off accidentally causing fire, as the train was entering the Poodi station.

Police ruled out sabotage and suspected that the gelatine sticks were being taken by quarry contractors. A case has been registered.
