Ritwik to meet Ghoshal

Mumbai June 19. Those who showed calibre and consistency over the last week made it to the final of the Indian Oil-Servo Rs. 3.07 lakh Otters Club squash tournament on Thursday. The men's and women's sections saw the top two players playing well enough to make a strong bid for the title on Friday.

Ritwik Bhattacharya and Sourav Ghoshal in the men's category and Mekhala Subedar and Joshna Chinappa, in the women's, were hardly stretched in the semifinal stage. Ghoshal entered the boys' under-19 final, getting the better of Singapore's Vivian Rahmanan.

Mekhala and Joshna once again proved that they were the country's best players. Mekhala outclassed Priyanka Yadav 9-0, 9-3, 9-1 while Joshna dropped a game to Deepali Anvekar before winning her semifinal at 10-8, 9-2, 1-9, 9-6.

Under-17: Manek Mathur (Mumbai) bt Imran Khan (Dhampur) 6-9, 9-5, 6-9, 10-9, 10-8; Sandeep Jangra (Jindal) bt A. Parthiban (Chennai) 9-4, 9-4, 5-9, 9-3.

Under-15: Harinderpal Sandhu (Chandigarth) bt Jay Bhagat 9-7, 9-4, 9-0; 3-Vikram Malhotra bt Naishad Lalwani 9-4, 9-3, 9-3.
