Seven killed as jeep collides with RTC bus

MAHABUBNAGAR JUNE 18. In a ghastly road accident seven persons were killed and 15 others injured when the jeep in which they were travelling collided with an RTC bus, near Fatehpur Maisamma temple under Nawabpet mandal, this morning.

The condition of two injured persons was critical and they were shifted to the Osmania General Hospital in Hyderabad. The remaining were undergoing treatment at the local Headquarters Hospital.

It was said that the jeep with 24 passengers, going to Mahabubnagar town, crashed into the RTC bus, resulting in the death of three persons on the spot— Venkatesh, 11, Ramabhai, 21, and Anantasai, 60. Vijayender, 20, Shyam Kumar, 12, Radha 12, and jeep driver Arjun Rao, 21, succumbed to the injuries in the hospital. All the passengers belonged to the Fatehpur village and most of them were labourers and students.
