Man abandoned by auto driver dies

BANGALORE June 14. A 75-year-old man died when an autorickshaw driver, who was taking him to hospital, abandoned him on the pavement near Sajjan Rao Circle and sped away on Saturday. Police said that the autorickshaw dashed against the old man near Kanteerava Stadium. When people expressed their ire, the autorickshaw driver promised to take the man to a hospital. He got the old man placed in his vehicle and sped away only to abandon him later. A paper found on the body of the victim suggested that his name was Mukundan from St. Marks Road.

Man assaulted

A man was allegedly assaulted by some persons at Kalappa Block in Srinagar in Hanumanthnagar police limits on Saturday night. Police, quoting eye-witnesses said, the man's limbs had been severed. He has been admitted to hospital.

3 injured

Three persons of a family were injured when a hoarding collapsed on them on Airport Road when gusty winds blew for a short while in the City on Saturday. Police said Aravind Reddy and his relatives, Vijaya and three-year-old Yuvanitha, were injured in the incident. Mr. Reddy , has been hospitalised.

Police said that tree branches fell in several areas such as Banashankari, Indiranagar, Airport Road, Ashoknagar, and Frazer Town.
