WAGAH JUNE 14. A Sikh jatha of 143 pilgrims today crossed over to Pakistan to observe the Martyrdom Day of the fifth Sikh Guru Arjan Dev Ji at Gurdwara Dera Sahib in Lahore amidst tight security arrangements made by the Pakistan Government.

The Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Prabhandhak Committee officials, including its Chairman, Mohammed Naim Akbar, warmly welcomed the jatha, led by Shiromani Gurudwara Prabhandhak Committee (SGPC) member, Sawinder Singh.

After crossing the Red cliff, the jatha headed for Gurudwara Dera Sahib at Lahore, 35 km from here. After observing the Martyrdom Day on Tuesday, it would proceed to Gurdwara Panja Sahib at Hasanabdal, 500 km from Lahore. — PTI
