Minister seeks Central aid

Pathanamthitta June 14. The Health Minister, P. Sankaran, has asked the Central Government for a Rs. 5-crore assistance to combat the ``emergency situation'' caused by the widespread incidence of viral fever.

Inaugurating a cleanliness ac tion plan launched by the district panchayat here today, he said eight people had died of de ngue fever in the State. Another 300 dengue cases were reported from various hospitals. _ UNI
