Sandeep moves up

NEW DELHI JUNE 14. Sandeep Chaudhary defeated Dannio Yahya of Malaysia 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in the first qualifying round of the GAIL ITF Satellite tennis circuit third leg at the DLTA Complex here on Saturday.

Sandeep will meet Katsushi Fukuda of Japan in the second round. The seventh-seeded Japanese had a bye in the first round.

Meanwhile, the wild cards for the main draw were awarded to Stephen Amritraj of the U.S., Chatwinder Singh, Saurabh Singh and Parantap Chaturvedi.
