CLP leader should thank CM, says CPI(M)

By Our Staff Reporter

VISAKHAPATNAM JUNE 14. The CLP leader, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, should thank the Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, for the phenomenal public response to his padayatra, according to the CPI(M) State secretary, B.V. Raghavulu.

``It's due to anti-incumbency factor, a large number of people turned up all through the padayatra route to greet the Congress leader,'' he told reporters here on Saturday.

Though the response was good, Dr. Reddy should give the credit to Mr. Naidu. The bandhs and other programmes organised by the Left parties in protest against the failure of the Government machinery in taking up drought relief measures also evoked an impressive response, he claimed.

Expressing his concern at the Friday's chaotic scenes witnessed at the Gandhi Bhavan during the one-day visit of the AICC general secretary in-charge of AP, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Mr. Raghavulu said that Congressmen should stand united by adopting a principled stand on various issues.
