At a press conference here on Saturday, the general secretary of the TMS, M. Nageswara Rao, reiterated their demand of granting bail to RTC drivers involved in accidents at the police station itself, like in the case of lorry drivers. He also sought the abolition of system of removing conductors involved in cash and ticket irregularities. Mr. Rao said the union had also resolved to proceed on a Statewide strike on June 19 in pursuance of its demands. June 16 and 17 would be observed as protest days and members would spot black badges to show their protest, he said. Also, the union would conduct a meeting of corporation workers at the Central Bus Station in Gowliguda at 5 p.m. on June 17.
