``The infiltration from Bangladesh is changing the demographic pattern of the State, which is not in the interests of the nation.
The Illegal Migrants (Detection by Tribunal) Act, should be repealed,'' the party president, Venkaiah Naidu, who returned from a party conclave at Guwahati, told reporters here.
Demand for scrapping the Act was no more a ``political issue but a socio-economic problem.''
Appealing to the Congress to support the repeal of the Act, Mr. Naidu said the issue should be debated in Parliament
``If necessary, a joint session should be called and the Act scrapped.'' he added
