Bhindranwale a martyr: SGPC

AMRITSAR JUNE 6. Nineteen years after he was killed in the military operation to flush out terrorists from the Golden Temple, the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandak Committee today declared Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale as a "martyr", coinciding with the anniversary of "Operation Blue Star". The Akal Takht Jathedar, Joginder Singh Vedanti, while honouring Bhindranwale as "martyr", gave the robe of honour to his son, Ishar Singh, at the Akal Takht.
