The senior selection committee, headed by Brijesh Patel, named a squad of eight batsmen, four medium pacers, two spinners, an allrounder and one wicketkeeper for the June 22 to August 2 tour where the team would be playing four one-day games, five three -day matches including the one against South Africa and two four-day games. Tamil Nadu's Hemang Badani has been named Das' deputy and Sandeep Patil as the coach. Mr. S. Karunakaran Nair, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told newspersons here on Saturday that an 18-day coaching camp would be organised at Bangalore's National Cricket Academy from June 1 and the team would arrive in London on June 22. The team: Shiv Sundar Das (Orissa, captain), Hemang Badani (TN, vice-captain), Wasim Jaffer (Mumbai), Gautam Gambhir (Delhi), Satyajit Parab (Baroda), S. sriram (TN), Ambati T. Rayudu (Hyderabad), Rohan Gavaskar (Bengal), Vijay Bharadwaj (Karnataka), L. Balaji (TN), Avishkar Salvi (Mumbai), Irfan Pathan (Baroda), Amit Bhandari (Delhi), Murali Kartik (Railways) and Amit Mishra (Haryana). Coach: Sandeep Patil. The Itinerary: June 25: British Universities (Durham); June 27-30: Durham (Riverside); July 2-4: Nottinghamshire (Trend Bridge); July 6: Leicestershire (Grace Road); July 9-11: Yorkshire (Headingley); July 13: Lancashire (Blackpool); July 15-17: Surrey (AMP Oval); July 19-21: South Africa (Arundel); July 24-26: Glamorgan (Swansea); July 28: Gloucestershire (Cheltenham); July 30-Aug. 2: Warwickshire.
