Kerala-Thiruvananthapuram
By Our Staff Reporter
As many as 15 loads of waste were lifted for processing today. A representative of the Poabs Group said the Government had only made a temporary arrangement with the company on a buy-back facility and payment of subsidy. ``We were forced to wind up operations as running the plant became totally unviable,'' he said. The Vilappil plant managers said that earlier too an accord had been reached on the supply of manure by the plant to the Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat through the Agro Industries Corporation. As many as 1,000 tonnes of manure worth Rs. 40 lakhs had been supplied as per the agreement in October last, but the company had received only Rs. 20 lakhs, they claimed. No arrangements had been made to clear the arrears, it was alleged.
