RTC specials for air show

HYDERABAD May 7. The APSRTC will be operating special city buses from different locations to the Hussainsagar Lake on Saturday in view of the air show being organised at 8 a.m.

According to a press release, the buses to be run on normal fare basis will have a display board -- "Hussain Sagar Air Display Special.''

The routes on which the buses to be run are: From Jubilee Hills via MLA Colony and Pension Office, from Charminar via MJ Market, from Lingampally via HCU, Gachibowli and Shilparamam, from NGO Colony via LB Nagar, Dilsukhnagar and Nampally.

From Uppal via Ramanthapur, Amberpet and Koti, from Kushaiguda via ECIL, Neredmet and Malkajgiri, from ECIL crossroads via HB Colony, Tarnaka and Vidyanagar, from Risala Bazar via Lal Bazar, JBS and Bata, from Secunderabad via Bata and Boats Club, from Patancheru via BHEL township, Kukatpally and Panjagutta, from Borabanda via Yousufguda checkpost and Ameerpet, from Jeedimetla via Balanagar, Sanathnagar and Balkampet.

Traffic curbs

The Tank Bund Road, Necklace Road, Khairatabad flyover and NTR Marg will be closed to traffic between 7 a.m. and 10 a.m. on May 10 owing to the air show, according to the city Police Commissioner, M.V. Krishna Rao.

No vehicle will be allowed on Upper Tank Bund from either side from 6 a.m. till the crowd disperses after the show. City buses, goods vehicles coming from Secunderabad side will proceed via Kavadiguda, Musheerabad, RTC X Road, Chikkadpaly and Narayanguda towards Liberty side and vice versa. Other vehicular traffic coming from Secunderabad will have to take the Kavadiguda-Ashoknagar-Indira Park-Gagan Mahal route and thereon towards Liberty Circle.

Vehicles coming from V.V. Statue towards Secretariat or Telugu Talli statue will proceed via Nirankari building, Saifabad police station, Iqbal Minar towards Ravindra Bharati and vice versa. Similarly, those going towards Sanjeevaiah Park will proceed via Raj Bhavan, Rajiv Gandhi statue, Greenlands, Hyderabad Public School, Rasoolpura towards Minister's Road. Vehicles coming from Minister's Road towards Necklace Road will be diverted towards Ranigunj at Nallagutta Junction.

Parking

General public from RTC X Roads and Ashoknagar side, Gaganmahal and Himayatnagar will have to park their vehicles at NTR Stadium and those from Punjagutta at the Institution of Engineers, Zilla Parishad Office, Khairatabad and at the Engineer-in-chief office Erramanzil. People coming from Dilshukhnagar and Uppal can park their vehicles in Nizam College, Basheerbagh and Public Gardens. Similarly, those coming from Mehdipatnam and Charminar should park their vehicles at Public Gardens.

The pass holders for the show after alighting at the venue will have to park their vehicles at specified locations. Red colour pass holders - new parking lot at People's Plaza and besides Rock Garden; Green colour - `Meekosam' near Necklace Rotary, Lumbini Park and Jaladrushyam; chocolate colour passes for Air Force officers only - Lake Police Station parking lot and first bridge open place.
