Incidentally, the 16-year-old Sania was the only Indian junior to get a direct acceptance into the main draw. The 15-year-old Sanaa Bhambri, ranked 52nd in the world, has been given an entry into the qualifying event, while the entry request of the 14-year-old Tara Iyer with a world ranking of 78 has not been accepted. In the boys' section, the 47th-ranked Somdev Dev Varman and the 62nd-ranked Karan Rastogi have been accepted into the qualifying event.
