LONDON: A role in Flashdance will prove a perfect vehicle for ambitious Jennifer Lopez, who is in talks with Paramount to remake Flashdance, just a week after the company threatened to sue her for breach of copyright. The bosses at Paramount, which had produced the movie, flipped when they saw the Flashdance-inspired video for J. Lo's latest single, I'm Glad, immediately firing off a cease and desist letter to Sony, her record label. They stated that the music video wasn't just taking inspiration from the famed Jennifer Beals audition scene, but blatantly ripping it off, move for move. But Paramount quickly realised the potential for a film remake and approached her with the starring roleFlashdance also inspired Geri Halliwell's less successful It's Raining Men video.
