Private college managements have filed objections against the Government Order on seat sharing formula and fee structure. The deadline for filing objections ends on Saturday. The Minister for Higher Education, G.Parameshwar, who disclosed this to presspersons here, said preparations were under way for conducting CET examination on May 30 and May 31 for selection of students for professional courses. Dr. Parameshwar said the Government had received suggestions and it would scrutinise the objections and issue the final notification. He said 1.50 lakh applications for CET had been received as against 1.57 lakh applications last year. He said 80,000 applications were from outside the State. After the opposition expressed by private managements to the Government's intervention on admission of students through CET, the Government last month issued an order stipulating that 75 per cent of the intake in all private colleges should be filled with students selected through CET.
