Two fake naxals held

By Our Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD April 25. Two pseudo naxals, who allegedly attempted to extort money from the owner of Divya Educational Society, R. Mothiya Nayak, were apprehended by the Langerhouse police on Friday.

The police recovered an air gun from the accused, K. Anand Kumar and Mohd. Akbar, a press release said. The duo allegedly hatched a plan to extort money from Mr. Nayak, who was one of the accused in the Backward Classes scholarship scam.

Anand and Akbar allegedly threatened Mr. Nayak posing themselves as naxalites. They approached Mr. Nayak a couple of times earlier demanding lakhs of rupees. This morning, they met him again and threatened to kill him showing the air gun.

Mr. Nayak negotiated with the duo and sought a couple of hours to pay the money. Later, he approached the Langerhouse Inspector, J. Subba Rami Reddy.

A special party, led by the Inspector, rounded up the accused when they came to collect the money from Mr. Nayak.
