Correction

The following is the excerpt from the remarks made by the Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa, in the Assembly on April 22:

``It is not an acceptable argument that merely because education opens the eyes and increases knowledge, catesist feelings will disappear. In Tamil Nadu, the person who incites utmost casteist fanaticism is Dr. Krishnasamy and the one who spreads casteist feelings is Dr. Ramadoss. Both are educated doctors. Hence there is no connection between education and casteist feelings''.

(The error, which crept in in the translation of the remarks made in Tamil in the report published in these columns on April 23, is regretted)
