Rolls-Royce bags JetBlue contract

NEW DELHI: At a time when the aviation sector globally is passing through turmoil and a slump mainly on account of war in Iraq and the deadly SARS outbreak, Rolls-Royce has announced that it has won business potentially worth $500 million as its share of an order for V2500 engines from the U.S. carrier JetBlue. The engines will power an additional 115 Airbus A-320 series twinjets for the New York-based, low-cost airline consisting of 65 firm aircraft and options for 50 planes in one of the biggest aircraft deals.
