Exide Ind. announces bonus

Exide Industries has announced a bonus issue in the ratio of one share for every equity share held.

The company has recommended a higher dividend of 40 per cent for the year ended March 31, 2003 against 35 per cent in the previous year. Gross turnover has crossed the Rs. 1,000 crore mark to Rs. 1,095.31 crores from Rs. 981.09 crores.

The gross profit before depreciation and taxation has increased to Rs. 126.97 crores from Rs. 88.42 crores. The profit after tax to Rs. 52.33 crores from Rs. 31.42 crores.
