'POTA is necessary'

Sir,— With reference to the Attorney-General, Soli Sorabjee's contention "POTA is a national necessity" ( April 23 ), the legislation is essential for identifying and detaining terrorists and law-breakers. Those who want the Act to go should be screened for links with banned outfits. The implementation of POTA in Tamil Nadu is timely.
