By Our Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI APRIL 23. The former Samajwadi Party MLA, Narender Bhati's son-in-law, who was shot at by a guest during his wedding ceremony at Noida near here on Monday night, died of his injuries at the Apollo Hospital here today. He was cremated later in the day.

Twenty-seven-year-old Tapesh Chowdhary, who was hit by a bullet in the back of the neck fired from a close range, had slipped into coma on Tuesday.

Earlier, the Samajwadi Party leader, Mulayam Singh Yadav, had called on the family to enquire about the condition of Tapesh.

At midnight on Monday Tapesh was sitting beside Meera, his bride, on the stage when one of the guests, Chaman Sharma, came up to "bless" the couple. He fired in the air from his friend's revolver and, while adjusting the gun for the second time, accidentally shot Tapesh. Chaman was arrested the next day.
