The Samajwadi Party leader, Mulayam Singh Yadav, leads a ``Hallabol cycle rally'' in Lucknow on Wednesday.
Thousands of Samajwadi activists, including legislators and party office-bearers cycled through the streets in the city and in other parts of the State. Mr. Yadav challenged the Chief Minister to arrest him in cases relating to alleged misutilisation of the Chief Minister's discretionary fund during his rule as announced by her. As Mr. Yadav went on his cycle, his party supporters jostled with one another to come closer to him and his security guards had a trying time. Mr. Yadav made brief stops to address the public and his party workers. He said his was the path of truth and it would result in ultimate victory for his party. The rally began from the Samajwadi Party office here on Vikramaditya Marg at around 1 p.m. and ended at the Royal Hotel crossing at 4 p.m. The party had announced plans to organise such rallies all over the State in reply to the Chief Minister's earlier decision to hold her "pardaphash rally'' to "expose the conspiracy hatched by the SP and the Congress'' against her Government.
