Gujarat
By Our Special Correspondent
The VHP and the Dal volunteers ransacked the health centre though it was run by the BJP-controlled Limdi municipality on the eve of its inauguration just because it was reconstructed with donations from the All India Christian Council. The health centre was damaged in the Republic Day earthquake in Gujarat in 2001. The demonstrators while submitting a memorandum to the Collector demanding immediate action against the hooligans told him that they would provide "kar seva'' to repair the health centre and re-open it for the public if the Government did not take steps to do so within a fortnight.
