Bid to lay siege to Chief Secretariat, over 400 held

Pondicherry April 17. Around 460 employees of various departments in Pondicherry were held today when they attempted to take out a rally to lay a siege to the Chief Secretariat in support of their demands.

The agitation was called by the Central Federation of Government employees.

The arrested were later released.

The demands, among the others, included convening of the Grievances Redress Committee and implementation of the Central Government order, revising wages.
