The party spokesperson, K.C. Tyagi, said that Mr. Mallya had severed his ties with the Janta Dal (U) three months ago and joined hands with the Janata Dal (S) leader, S.R. Bommai, to form the All-India Janata Dal. ``In these circumstances his resignation has no meaning and I do not know why is he publicising it now,'' he added. PTI
