Closed-circuit TV at Bhojshala

By Our Special Correspondent

NEW DELHI APRIL 10. Three days after the Bhojshala complex in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, was thrown open for worship and sightseeing, the Union Culture Minister, Jagmohan, today reviewed the security situation around the site and ordered the installation of closed-circuit television cameras to monitor the movement of visitors.

The Director-General of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), Gauri Chatterjee, and senior ASI officials attended the meeting. The ASI has also decided to increase the number of watch and ward staff within the complex.

While 6,000 devotees offered prayers at the Bhojshala on Tuesday after the ASI directed the Madhya Pradesh Government to allow Hindus to offer prayers on Tuesdays from dawn-to-dusk, the complex attracted 500 tourists each on both Wednesday and Thursday.
