Karnataka-Bangalore
By Our Staff Reporter
Taking the salute at a parade organised at Adugodi CAR Grounds here to mark the Police Flag Day, Mr. Kharge said the police should contain individuals, organisations and all forces trying to disturb law and order. They must be dealt with firmly, he stressed. To improve the economic condition of the police, the Home Minister suggested that they should form a cooperative society.
The problems of the police would only multiply if they did not act swiftly and form a cooperative society of their own. This would take care of the needs related to education of their children, marriages in their families, building houses, etc. Mr. Kharge gave away the Chief Minister's medals to 57 police officers. Five police officers, who were associated with the investigation of the multi-crore stamp paper racket, were presented with gold medals. The Director-General and Inspector-General of Police, T.Madiyal, the Bangalore Police Commissioner, M.D.Singh, and senior police officers were present.
