WB to launch Kannada website

BANGALORE APRIL 2. The World Bank's India office is launching its Kannada website (www.vishwabanku.org) on Friday to create instant and round-the-clock access to information about the bank's operations in India, especially in Karnataka.

The site is linked to the bank's main English website (www.worldbank.org) , its website on India (www.worldbank.org.in) , and the Hindi (www.vishwabank.org) and Telugu websites (www.prapanchabank.

org), making a wealth of information available to journalists, researchers, academics, students, and others interested in knowing more about the World Bank. "The launch of our Kannada website is an important step towards transparency and providing greater access to information on the World Bank. We hope that the people of Karnataka find this site useful," said Michael F.Carter, Country Director (India), World Bank.
