Letters to the Editor
Sir, Your Editorial ` Blood on the roads ' (March 31) has not come a day too soon. Roads are not uniform and there is a large variation in the type of vehicles on the road along with the speed with which they travel. The roads are poorly maintained. There is widespread disregard for traffic rules and disrespect for traffic constables. Also, civic agencies such as Telephones, the Water Supply and Sewerage Board and cable operators dig roads for their own network. While there may be some planning at the administrative level, there is hardly any coordination at the ground level resulting in many accidents.
