AIR special programmes

Hyderabad April 1. Special programmes will be broadcast on Ugadi day on Wednesday by the Hyderabad station of All India Radio.

According to a press note by the Station Director, Durga Bhaskar, the special programme will begin with a "nadaswaram" from 5 a.m. by Shaikh China Mastan and Rehman. There will be reading of the almanac at 10 a.m. by Gouribhatla Divyagnana Siddhanti. The "kavighosti'' programme, will include Kanumaluru Venkatasivayya, Acharya Tirumala, K.B. Lakshmi, Darbhasayanam Srinivasacharya and Sarat Jyotsna Rani.

This will be followed by a music programme named "rasamanjari''. As part of the "Illu-Vakili'' programme in the evening, K. Prabhakara Sastry will speak on the significance of Ugadi.

From 10.30 p.m. to 11.15 p.m., there will be a recital by Nukala China Satyanarayana under "Ragam-Tanam-Pallavi''.
