BAGHDAD, APRIL 1. The Iraqi President, Saddam Hussein, in a message to his people said today that `jehad' (holy war) was a religious duty and urged them to fight the invading U.S. and British troops, wherever they found them. ``Jehad is a duty. Whoever dies will be rewarded by heaven ...This is what God requested of you," said Saddam's message, which was read out on the State television by the Information Minister, Mohammed Saeed al-Sahaf. "Hit them, fight them...Fight them everywhere," the message said. -- Reuters
