Tile with Muslim inscription found

Ayodhya April 1. In a significant discovery, the Archaeological Survey of India team undertaking excavation at the acquired land in Ayodhya recovered a piece of green tile with the inscription `Allah' in trench number J-6 in which about two feet digging had been done, sources said today.

The word 'Allah' was inscribed in Urdu.

The excavation work was resumed after weekly recess yesterday and digging was undertaken in J-4, J-5, J-6, K-5, K-6 and K-7 trenches.

Besides 23 articles, including figurine stone pieces with human face carving, were also found during the digging.

The sources said 79 labourers, including five Muslims, were engaged in today's digging.

All the articles found during the digging are in the custody of the ASI team. — PTI
