Hyundai sales climb in March

CHENNAI APRIL 1. Defying industry trends, domestic and overseas sales for Hyundai Motor continued to climb to reach 1.59 lakh units in March representing a 10.3 per cent improvement over February. In year-over-year terms, sales in March were fractionally down as compared to the same month last year. The company shipped 4.61 lakh units during the first three months of this year, marking a 7.1 per cent improvement over last year's first quarter. Domestic sales in March rose by 10.1 per cent over the previous month to 62,947 units while exports improved by 10.4 per cent to 96,796 units in the same period.

In January-March exports soared by 16.4 per cent year-on-year to 2.80 lakh units while domestic sales were down 4.8 per cent to 1.81 lakh units.
