More time to offer prayers at disputed site

Ayodhya April 1. The time period fixed for prayers to `Ramlala' at the disputed site in Ayodhya has been increased from today.

The District Magistrate, Faizabad Alok Kumar, told newsmen here today that the time had been increased in view of the large number of devotees pouring in to offer prayers till Ram Navmi, which falls on April 12.

"Ramlala' is the idol of Lord Rama placed at the disputed site.

He said the devotees would now be able to offer prayers from 7 a.m. to 12.00 noon and again from 2.00 p.m to 6.00 p.m.

Normally the timings for offering prayers are from 7 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. and from 2.00 p.m. to 5.00 p.m. — UNI
