Letters to the Editor
Sir, Your Editorial ` U.N. allowed a small say ' (March 31). It is heartening to know that the U.N. is resuming its `oil-for-food' programme in Iraq. For the war-ravaged country and its starving people, this programme comes as a great relief. Though small, it is a victory for the U.N. over the defiant forces, whose recent actions have questioned the relevance of the world body. Another task at hand for the U.N. is to come up with viable plans for reconstruction and rehabilitation in post-war Iraq. Here too the solidarity and support of all members will ensure that such plans succeed.
