Metropolitan area development plans discussed

HYDERABAD March 11. An inter-departmental meeting of representatives of the Municipal Corporation, HMWS&SB, Collectorates of Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts and the HUDA was held to discuss the proposals for the forthcoming workshop on development of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area here on Tuesday.

The meeting convened by the HUDA and presided over by its Vice- Chairperson, Lakshmi Parthasarathy, discussed the proposals of organising a workshop for all implementing agencies connected with planning and development of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area.

A representative of the CPG Corporation, Singapore, R. Pannir Chevlam, made a presentation on various issues and subjects that could be discussed in the workshop proposed to be held in April.

Mr. Chelvam also presented the best practices followed in Singapore in planning and development aspects.

Senior officers of various departments, including the Collector, Rajesh Tiwari, Ranga Reddy Joint Collector, Ravi Chandra, MCH Additional Commissioner, M.V. Satyanarayana, Chief City Planner, V.R. Satish Chandra, and HMWS&SB CGM, Md. Hussain Patel, were among others who attended the meeting.
