The Bench comprising the Chief Justice J. L. Gupta, Justice Cyriac Joseph and Justice K.S. Radhakrishnan held that as per the provisions of the Kerala Education Rules (KER), it was clear that service put in by a teacher need not be in one unit or in the same school under the same management. The court made the ruling while allowing a writ petition filed by V. Sasidharan Nair, teacher in the I.O. High School, Edavanna, Malappuram.
