Forest department sources said Nadukallur farmers spread the net last night and when they went to retrieve the net in the wee hours today, they found a python in the net. After catching the reptile with the help of some more villagers, they informed the forest department this morning. The snake was brought to the office of the District Forest Officer to be taken to the thick jungles beyond Courtallam. The department personnel have so far caught more than 125 pythons around Tirunelveli, which were washed away from the Western Ghats by floods in 1992.
