Two held for forging loan sureties

THRISSUR MARch 3. Police today arrested two persons who had taken a loan for Rs 1.5 lakhs from the Ayyanthole branch of the Kerala State Financial Enterprises (KSFE) by producing forged surety for the chitty which one of them had enlisted. The police identified the arrested as Benny (38), son of Kochappan of Ancherikadavil and Varghese (61) residing at P and T Quarters at Poothole here. Benny had enlisted himself for a chitty at the KSFE of a total of Rs 1 lakh and after remitting chitty instalments for six months availed a loan from the same. He sought the help of Varghese, an employee of the P and T, who in turn forged a surety for the loan in a fake name of an employee of P and T. The police had investigated the case based on the petition by the branch manager of KSFE. It is also learnt that the duo had cheated the main branch of KSFE and its Shornur Road branch by availing loan by producing forged sureties.
