`Propagate Govt.'s achievements'

Udupi March 3. D.M.Puttegowda, Vice-President of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), has urged the Congress workers to propagate the achievements of the S.M. Krishna Government to the people.

He was speaking at a meeting of Congress representatives of people, and the party workers here recently. Mr. Puttegowda said the Government had an impressive record on rural development, drinking water supply, construction of roads and bridges, health, education, housing, and so on. Vasanth V.Salian, Udupi District in-charge minister, said that stress would be on strengthening the party organisation in the district. Vinaykumar Sorake, MP, urged the party workers to be cautious about the efforts by certain organisations to mislead people.

K.Pratapchandra Shetty, former MLA, said the people's representatives should solve the problems faced by farmers and fishermen by apprising the Union and State governments of the same. M.A.Gafoor, President of Udupi District Congress Committee, said the special drive to enrol members in the party would be completed by the weekend. B.S.Pratapchandra Shetty, General Secretary of DCC, welcomed the gathering. Shekhar Madiwal proposed a vote of thanks. K.Gopal Poojary, Byndoor MLA, T.Gopalkrishna Shetty, President of Udupi Urban Development Authority (UUDA), P.Basavaraj, former MLA, Remedia D'Souza, H.Jayasheela Shetty, Sarasu Bangera, Ashok Kumar Hegde, zilla panchayat members, Devaki Sanayya, President of Kundapur Town Municipal Council, Anita D'Souza, President of Udupi Taluk Panchayat, Murali Shetty, President of District Youth Congress, and Shyamala Bhandary, President of District Mahila Congress, were present.
