Letters to the Editor
Sir, This has reference to Arundhati Roy's article `You have blood on your hands' (Feb. 28). Ms. Roy says that the Muthanga sanctuary was being partly used by Grasim and that the police firing took place there. Does that mean that the adivasis tried to occupy a land where a private party was having its plantation? Or did the private party occupy the adivasi land? Did Grasim have any legal permission to own a plantation in Muthanga? How can Ms. Roy compare the Muthanga incident to Jallianwala Bagh? In Jallianwala Bagh, the British opened fire on unarmed people. But the adivasis were heavily armed.
