SecureSynergy's initiative

By Our Corporate Reporter

CHENNAI FEB. 25. Security threats keep changing and the Indian information technology (IT) managers are spending most of their time preventing an attack or dealing with a threat or vulnerabilities that have slipped through. With the fast spread of malicious codes and types of threats increasing by the day it is necessary for real-time businesses to secure their networks against hacker attacks. Training for network administrator or manager and technical support would help in the proactive management of the network, according to Anil Menon, Senior Vice President (Operations) SecureSynergy, a technology consulting services company with operations across the Middle East, Indian, ASEAN and European countries.

Mr. Menon told The Hindu that the Indian IT security market was $ 81.03 million (Rs. 330 crores) in 2003 (including products and services) and was growing at 80 per cent year on year.

SecureSynergy was managing security services, consulting, security training and predictability management focussed on delivering `information assurance' across clients' value chain. Mr. Menon said the company had also launched the Centre for Information Security and Assurance Technologies (CISAT) an advanced lab for information security, aimed at addressing the security awareness needs.

Besides the company had come out with a security training initiative targeting at policymakers, security technology implementers, architects and end users with the objective of raising the overall awareness of information security practices, according to Mr. Menon.
