The `drought Janmabhoomi', which will last till March 4, is primarily aimed at gearing up the administration to meet the scarcity of drinking water and cattle fodder that will arise during summer months. The Chief Minister, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has nominated 23 senior IAS officers to supervise and coordinate the relief works in each of the districts. The Supervisory Officers have been asked to visit the districts every Saturday. The Collectors have also been asked to utilise the services of panchayat secretaries and sarpanches and to take fool-proof measures to prevent distress sale of cattle and migration of people by providing alternative sources of employment locally. Following are the supervisory officers: T. S. Appa Rao - Srikakulam, B. N. Rao - Vizianagaram, S. Bhattacharya - Visakhapatnam, Rajiv Sharma - East Godavari, J. C. Sharma - West Godavari, A. R. Sukumar - Krishna, S. P. Singh - Guntur, D. Ramakrishna - Prakasam, K. Raju - Nellore, A. Venkateswarlu - Chittoor, T. Janardhan Naidu - Cuddapah, P. Sundar Kumar - Anantapur, Sameer Sharma - Kurnool, C. R. Biswal - Mahabubnagar, J. S. V. Prasad - Rangareddi, D. R. Garg - Hyderabad, J. C. Mohanty - Medak, Ajoyendra Pyal - Nizamabad, V. K. Agarwal - Adilabad, C .V. S. K. Sharma - Karimnagar, B. P. Acharya - Warangal, L. V. Subramanyam - Khammam and A. C. Puneetha - Nalgonda.
