dated February 26, 1953: Unfair fare

Mr. K. K. Goapalakrishnan said in a letter to the Editor. "Immediately after the Customs retaining the luggage of the first and second class railway passengers from Ceylon the mail train starts from the pier for Dhanushkodi station at about 11-40 a.m. The third class passengers are left behind. After the Customs check, these passengers have to go on foot in the hot sun for a mile and a half to reach the station and board the train. And yet, they too have paid full fare.!"
