E. Bengal consolidates position at top

Margao Feb. 13 . Title aspirant East Bengal consolidated its position at the top of the table with a hard fought 3-1 win over Churchill Brothers in the Oil PSU National Football League match at Nehru stadium here on Thursday.

After Churchill's Ratan Singh neutralised Douglas Silva dos Santos' first half strike, man-of-the-match Alvito D'Cunha gave East Bengal an early lead in the second half and Mike Okoro made the issue safe for the winner in the dying minutes when he netted. — PTI
